Giuseppe Solarino is currently Associate Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at University of Bari "Aldo Moro", where he is a Member of the Academic Senate. He teaches Musculoskeletal diseases in several courses at the School of Medicine and works as surgeon in the Policlinico Teaching Hospital in Bari. He focused his major scientific and surgical interests on degenerative pathologies of hip and knee in adults, traumatological disorders of the lower limbs, primary and revision total hip and knee replacements, treatment of fractures in elderly and periprosthetic fractures. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in international journals about all the fields of orthopedics and traumatology, with special interest in the area of joint replacements. He is the President of the Italian Society for Revision Surgery (AIR), the Secretary of the Italian Hip Society (SIdA), the VicePresident of the Technology Committee of the Italian Society of Knee, Arthroscopy and Sport Medicine (SIAGASCOT), member of the Italian Section of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT), of the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SIOT) and of the European Hip Society (EHS).
Giuseppe Marongiu, M.D.
Assistant Professor in Orthopedics and Traumatology, University of Cagliari, Italy
Giuseppe Marongiu is currently Assistant Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at University of Cagliari. He is currently lecturer of Musculoskeletal disorders at the School of Medicine of Cagliari State University. His major scientific and surgical interests include hip and shoulder pathology of the adult, primary and revision total hip arthroplasty, 3D modeling and 3D printing in orthopedics, reparative osteogenesis, physiology and biomechanics in trauma surgery, treatment of periprosthetic fractures and fragility fractures and osteoporosis. He has authored over 40 publications in national and international journals, chapters in books, and articles in the field of orthopedics and traumatology with a special interest in the area of hip pathology. He is an active member of Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SIOT) and the Italian Society for Revision Surgery (AIR).
