Editorial on: is the use of spreaders an accurate method for ligament balancing?
Abstract
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has become successfully performed procedure for knee osteoarthritis. Accurate alignment of knee implants and soft tissue balance during TKA may induce reproduction of stable tibiofemoral and patellofemoral (PF) joints (1,2). Therefore, appropriate methods are necessary for assessment of soft tissue balance. Spreader and Spacer blocks are commonly used.
