Osteochondral augmentation of glenoid bone loss—distal tibia allograft

The treatment of glenoid bone loss in the setting of recurrent anterior shoulder instability has been a point of debate in orthopaedic surgery. The decision of when to treat with soft tissue stabilization only versus augmenting the glenoid with a bone graft, and which bone graft to use, has provoked varying opinions. In this review, we explore the different treatment options for these patients, when bony augmentation should be implemented, and the benefits and drawbacks of several different graft options.
