Identification and treatment of RAMP lesions in anterior cruciate ligament-injured knees

Thomas P. Pfeiffer, Conor I. Murphy, Justin W. Arner, Volker Musahl

Abstract

Meniscal ramp lesions are an evolving and challenging pathology within the field of orthopaedic surgery. Gold standards for diagnosis or treatment have not been firmly established. Currently, MRI and diagnostic arthroscopy exist as the most effective diagnostic techniques. Meniscal repair systems or an all-inside technique have been utilized to treat these injuries. Limited clinical studies have demonstrated efficacy and good outcomes, but more high level of evidence studies must be performed to solidify evidence-based diagnostic and treatment recommendations.
