Pengfei Zan, MD, PhD

Dr. Zan attended Medical College of Tongji University in 2007. He completed resident training in Shanghai Tenth People’s Hospital from 2012 – 2015 and continued his PhD education at Tongji University. As a research fellow and joint PhD, he had 15 months research experience at Mayo Clinic, USA from September 2016 until December 2017. He is currently an orthopedic surgeon in the department of orthopedic surgery of Second affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University.

Dr. Zan’s research interests focus on stem cell engineering, leverage this principle by manipulating regulatory states of human stem cells and altering the accessibility of genes within chromosomes (epigenetics). Till now, he has published original papers in many international peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Journal of Arthroplaty, Bone & Joint Research, Tissue engineering, et al.
