Delphine Duprez (Formation of the musculoskeletal system)

Delphine Duprez is a CNRS researcher. She obtained her PhD in 1993 in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University Paris 7 (University Paris Diderot). She carried out her post-doctoral studies at University College London, England (1993-1995) and in Nicole Le Douarin’s laboratory in France (1995-1998). She was recruited to the CNRS position in 1998. She defended her Habilitation (HDR) in 2001 at the University Paris 6 (UPMC).

She has been team leader since 2003; her team is located in the Developmental Biology Laboratory, UMR7622-IBPS CNRS-UPMC, in Paris. She has a total number of publications of 58, with a H-index of 30.

Delphine’s research focuses on the understanding of fundamental mechanisms underlying the formation of components of the musculoskeletal system, including muscle, tendon and connective tissue. Foetal myogenesis is crucial for muscle growth and generation of adult satellite cells. One research axis is to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying limb fœtal myogenesis and the interactions that muscles have with adjacent tissues, using the chick, mouse and zebrafish models. Another axis of research is to establish the relationship between the mechanical parameters, transcription factors and signalling pathways in tendon differentiation during development, homeostasis and repair, in vertebrates.
