Published: 2024-01-03

At the end of 2023, Prof. Qing Jiang will step down as the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Joint (AOJ) after a 7-year term in the position. Before we welcome Prof. Dongquan Shi, as the next Editor-in-Chief, we wanted to look back on Qing Jiang's tenure and thank him for his myriad of contributions to the journal and community of sports medicine and adult reconstructive surgery (Figure 1).

Figure 1. Mr. Daoyuan Wang (CEO and founder of AME Publishing Company) presented a certificate to Qing Jiang for his contribution to AOJ (Left to right: Dongquan Shi, Qing Jiang, Daoyuan Wang)

Since 2016, Prof. Jiang has led the journal in its mission to provide an interdisciplinary forum for clinical, translational and basic research of bone and joint, including but not limited to, knee injuries, hip replacement, spine surgery, elbow arthroscopy, shoulder instability, osteoarthritis, trauma, osteosarcoma and etc.

While the journey ends in terms of Prof. Jiang’s posts in Annals of Joint (AOJ), we shall always be grateful for Prof. Jiang’s tremendous contribution in the past.

In January 2024, Prof. Dongquan Shi, once mentored by Prof. Jiang, will take the helm as Editor-in-Chief of the journal, and we are excited to see his vision take shape. We are confident that he will build on the strong foundations laid by Prof. Jiang and carry the journal's strong legacy forward.
